Four-day weekend, you say????

Can I get an AMEN for long weekends?!! This week has just draggggged by. What in the world am I going to do with all that lovely, precious time away from work you might ask....hopefully, a whole lot of nada, zip, zilch!! You know you're getting old when you have time off from work and you don't feel like doing anything but sitting around the house watching DVDs, eating sunflower seeds, drinking beer and blogging in your underwear. Not that I would ever do such as that. Me? Nope, not me.

I think Becky and I may try to take out the S.S. Pieroni for one more leisurely cruise around the lake before fall finally settles in. Who knows? It is alot of work getting that boat in and out of the water. But, we've had some good times on that boat this summer. If you haven't already seen the evidence on my lovely MySpace picture albums. Thank the Lord Jared's parents encourage us to take it out or I would've been ten shades of translucent white this summer.
God, is it only 11:30? Sheesh, this is going to be one lonnnnng day, I can tell right now. At least the view from my computer is of the lovely lake. Wait, that only makes me want to get out of here that much quicker. Well, I guess I must slave away (or at least pretend to) here at the daily grind until five. After that suckers, I'm getting the hell outta dodge.
Expect some pictures from the weekend. Me? Taking pictures? Of course. I think we will be traveling across the River to go see our friend, Ben Coulter play at one of the little dive bars in Greenville. Should be fun....I hope.
Love, Peace and chicken grease!!

Happy 56th Birthday Mom!

Today was my mom's 56th birthday. Being the wonderful daughter I am....I went to visit her after work today to wish her a happy birthday. Of course, I came bearing a present...something I knew she would looooove!!! A purse....rather, a BIG purse and a really neat, embroidered cup to put her drinks in. I wasn't sure if she would like it, but the picture below was her reaction when she opened it up. I keep hearing that I look just like her....I don't see it.

My dad made it home from the fields just in time for some cake, thanks to my aunt who actually went out and bought it :)....As you can see, I caught him mid-bite. Gotta love the candid shots!!!

Here we have my Aunt Teresa. She is my mom's younger sister by 15 months....not far apart, are they? She lives two houses down from my mom and dad and is the most like my mother. The other two sisters couldn't be farther apart on the spectrum. I say it's because they are so close to the same age..hee hee.

Can't leave out my grandmother...the matriarch of the Roark clan. Her given name is Evelyn, but we all call her Skippy, long story. She and her EIGHT siblings all have nicknames which makes it even more confusing at family reunions. I still can't keep them all straight. She is a true southern lady and if you ever hear her thick, southern accent you would swear you're talking to Scarlett O'Hara from Gone With the Wind. It's really quite amusing.

All in all, I thought it was a pretty enjoyable evening (for a Wednesday). Mom got some really nice gifts. Dad bought her the DVD collection of "Roots".....don't ask me why, but I thought it was funny. I hope to celebrate many more with her and hopefully end the neverending hints of dying before I can bear her grandchild!! AS IF!

And now.....a few of my friends!!

This is my favorite picture of Clint kicking some serious butt on the Wii Boxing game. He and Jared were roommates for awhile and he has the reigning title of "Person who cooks the most"!! He never misses a chance to whip up a good meal and call us over to eat and visit. His nickname is "Clintock" because if you can't find him, he's either at Putock or Woodstock.

Just look at those dimples...Meagan is the light-hearted, story-telling one of the group. She is starting as a teacher this year and I'd give anything to go back in time so she could be my teacher!

Next in line is Robert and Calley McNemar. They were married four months before Jared and I and are good friends of ours. Robert loves to cook out at his house, which is great because we are ALWAYS up for some good food!!

And here is the always smiling Lindsey. She and our other friend, Clint, just got engaged last month. So, we are looking forward to their wedding next year.

Paige....she's always making me laugh and is always fun to be around. She's a part of another Italian family down here and makes alot of tasty food for me to try out.

Next we have the sweet Sarah. She dates Paige's brother Seth. She's probably the quiet one in the bunch, compared to the rest of us. Ironically, Seth is probably the loudest one....I guess opposites do attract.

Don't let the smirk fool you, Seth is the loudest and funniest friend we have. His laugh is contagious and very distinct. You can count on him to find the humor in all situations.

Don't they look sooooo sweet??? Angela and Neal....Neal has been Jared's best friend for...well, forever. Next to Seth, Neal is the loudest person. Angela and I met when she moved to Lake Village and we both worked at the same store. Jared and I were both honored to be in their wedding. They have the two most adorable little kids, Nathan and Katherine, who are the subjects of a lot of my picture taking.

Mary Ashley and Sarah....I included this because I thought it was a pretty shot of the two of them.

Umm.....yeah, what can I say? These two can't take a serious photo to save their lives. Nothing is every boring around friends like these!

Here we have my sister-in-law, Becky and our friend, Grace. First of all, Grace has a POOL!!! But, that's not why I like her (well not the only reason :) She is a kindergarten teacher and I believe has the patience of a saint!

Last, but not least, Daniel and Tracey. They have been together foooooreverrrr. I'm predicting they are next in line to tie the knot. Oh, and Tracey plays a mean game of poker.

So, those are just a few of the bazillion photos I have and I'm sure that I've left a few people out but I will have everyone covered in due time.

I've also added two friends to my blog list. Go check them out. Jill is a good friend of mine and we were even roommates for awhile when we were working at WestEnd together....ahh, fun times. Now, she has twin girls and a boy on the way!!! I guess we are officially grown-up now. Becky, as I've mentioned is my sister-in-law and has become a great friend of mine. I'm sure she'll come up with some posts since I've linked her. I can't forget Sarah, after all, I work for her father-in-law. She's expecting a sweet little girl at the end of October. She is probably the cutest pregnant woman I've ever seen too.

Gotta go for now. For some reason, I'm required to work while I'm here. What's up with that??

Pictures, Pictures!!

The folks that are responsible for yours truly....my Mom and Dad!!! Woo hoo...married for 36 years and going strong!

The most recent Mrs. Pieroni, Becky, at her luau

"Aster Disaster" as her mother calls her....my new little sister, Ashley

Daniel and his pearly whites!

My nephew, Spencer, who will be 17 this November!!

Sooo...this is my twin sister, Amanda, and her daughter. Hard to believe we're twins huh?

Then we have my other sister's daughter, guess what her name is? :)

Oh how I love adding speech bubbles to those pics!!! My older sister and "her man".

Cute picture of Jared and myself at Becky and Daniel's Luau wedding shower.

Another reason I shouldn't have internet at work!!

Hey.....yeah....it didn't take me long to jump on the bandwagon and make myself a blog. Talk about high-tech redneck!!! Yee haw. Seriously, I've always like documenting things and with technology like it is now, there's no excuse not too. I must confess that I have a serious addiction with photo-taking and editing, so expect to see a myriad of cute and wild pictures I take on a weekly basis.

So....here's the background story....see that cute fella up there and the lady with the long hair?? Yeah, that's me and my wonderful husband, Jared. Don't we look soooo in love?? We were wedded in marital bliss this past October and I officially became part of the Pieroni clan. Down here in Lake Village there are alot of Italians and I just couldn't resist :) I couldn't have asked for a more loving, caring and hard working man to be married to. He's a sweetie.

Enough of that mushy stuff. The two cutie pies with me in the photo are my neices. No need for names, I have an obsession with putting captions and text on all of my photos. Sweet-looking aren't they? Don't let them fool you, they are sneaky. But, at least I'm the "cool" aunt who still plays Barbies with them and watches cartoons.

Hey, this blogging thing isn't so hard after all. Great, another obsession I will likely overindulge in rather than actual human contact. Oh well....stay tuned....I'm sure there will be lots more entries!!!!
